The Digital Business Ecosystem project ( ended Feb 2007 ) was a European Union-funded project to apply the ecosystem paradigm to business-to-business communication. It also emphazised cooperation between European regions. Finland was represented by the Tampere region and COSS / Technology Center Hermia coordinated the Finnish part of the project. Technically this was done using a Java-based peer-to-peer communications software developed by the project.
Sovibox participated in the project as an implementor by adapting the Client/Server part of it's DoItNet invoicing product to use DBE. The adaption was done using Apache Axis and web services / SOAP to interface with the PHP -based DoItNet-application.
Perhetreffit is a project by Helsingin Kouluraittiuspiiri for secondary education. Femit Oy and Sovibox Oy has created a database - driven web site for the project, the site went into production in September 2006 and it runs on Sovibox ASP service. The project comprises a public website and a community - based extranet with blogs and user-generated data and utilizes Sovibox Stampernet platform. tools used are PHP/Postgresql.
